While searching for different alternatives to the Raspberry Pi to use for various day-to-day functions, I have come across the Banana Pi, HummingBoard, MinnowBoard, etc. However, the most recent one that I have come across is the Compute Stick by Intel.
The Compute Stick is an easy to use, easy to set up alternative to the Raspberry Pi. It also comes pre-loaded with Windows 8.1 or Linux. All you need to do when you get this is plug it into your HDTV and you connect a mouse and Keyboard Via USB or Bluetooth and you are ready. Lucky for me, I already own a Rii mini i8 Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad for PC which I think would work perfectly with this device.
Inside the Compute Stick is an Atom Z3735F, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage.
The Linux verion has 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage.
$149 for the windows version with the 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage. $89 for the Linux verion with 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage.
