Running IIS and WAMP Simultaneously on Windows Server

Firstly before we install WAMP on our Windows Server, we need to stop our IIS server.

So we go to our Server Manager -> Roles -> Web Server-> Internet Information Services. Here we select our server and under Manage Server we click Stop.

Next we need to install WAMP. You can find the download link here (http://www.wampserver.com/en/).

We simply download the exe. from the link provided and run the executable. After installation go to http://localhost to make sure that WAMP is running.

Now at this point we have 2 options.

1.) We can make WAMP the default port 80 server
2.) We can make IIS the default port 80 server

For option 1 what we have to do is change the port for our IIS server. Since our IIS server defaults to 80 we will need to change this.

To do so we go back to our Server Manager -> Roles -> Web Server-> Internet Information Services. If we expand our server and under our Sites folder go our default website.

Right click on our Default site -> Site Bindings.
Here we select the http type and click Edit. We then change the port 80 number to another number, example 801. Simply then click OK and Close.

Click on our server in the connections list and under manage server simply click Start. Now when we go to our localhost and we go to the address http://localhost we will see our WAMP server running and if we go to http://localhost:801 we will see our IIS server running

For option 2 we will have to do the exact opposite. Since WAMP is default to port 80 we will need to change that.

Go to our WAMP icon in the toolbar, left click and select Put Offline. After this is complete we simply click on the WAMP icon again then we go to Apache->httpd.config.

In this file we will look for the follow line of code

Listen 0.0.0.0:80

Here we will change the :80 to another number example :801, we then simply save the file then close. Now we go to the WAMP icon in the toolbar, left click and click Restart All Services.

After this is completed we will need to go back to our IIS Server, Server Manager -> Roles -> Web Server-> Internet Information Services. We then select our server and under Manage Server we simply click Restart.

Now when we go to our localhost and we go to the address http://localhost we will see our IIS server running and if we go to http://localhost:801 we will see our WAMP server running
