Raspberry Pi 2

My Raspberry Pi 2 is finally here. I know I am probably a bit late to the party but at the great saying says "Better late than never." I actually bought my Raspberry Pi 2 from Amazon for $46.

Of course you can go to the Raspberry Pi website (http://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-2-model-b/) and read about this yourself. However, I also want to put the specs here and the you about some of the interesting things that I will be doing with my new toy.

  • A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU
  • 1GB RAM

  • Like the (Pi 1) Model B+, it also has:
  • 4 USB ports
  • 40 GPIO pins
  • Full HDMI port
  • Ethernet port
  • Combined 3.5mm audio jack and composite video
  • Camera interface (CSI)
  • Display interface (DSI)
  • Micro SD card slot
  • VideoCore IV 3D graphics core

As you can see, it is pretty similar to the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+ but the additional memory and processing will give me the ability to test projects that I would not have been able to test in the past.

Now that I have two of these devices, I will be playing around with clusters and a lot of cool stuff that you might want to stick around to see.
